A charitable gift annuity benefits a donor and the receiving charity because a transfer of property is made to the charitable organization and the donor is able to make a deduction of the donation, but the donor will receive payment from the annuity of a set annual amount, as determined by the Committee on Gift Annuities, which is accepted by most charitable organizations.
